Hold the baby in a cradle position with one hand. With your other hand, hold out the outer fabric to create a pouch.
Lower the baby into the pouch. Ensure that the inner fabric is pulled up high.
The baby's head may be in or out of the sling, depending on whether he is sleeping or awake. Pull the tail of the sling tight.
This position is good for newborns and older babies. If your newborn seems lost inside the sling in the cradle carry, place a folded receiving blanket under his head to act as a pillow.
